Initial Nutrition Assessment
This is for those people who want to focus on individual weight management issues with a Registered Dietitian. This assessment will include dietary, lifestyle and medical questions that will be important in guiding personal nutrition recommendations for weight loss. A review of your eating and physical activity log is included to assess if and how you are meeting your weight management energy needs.
Energy Budgeting Follow-Up Consultation
This follow-up consultation is for those clients who have completed an initial assessment. In this session you will work with a Registered Dietitian to develop an energy budget to meet your current energy needs for health and weight management. This energy budget will guide you in food choices to ensure that you are getting appropriate carbohydrate, protein, fat, fluid, and calorie intake based on your age, weight, height, gender, and weekly physical activity level while still meeting your weight management goals.
Meal Planning Follow-Up Consultation
This follow-up consultation is for those clients who have completed their initial assessment and energy budgeting consultation. This meal planning consultation will be your guide for making meal and snack choices.
Follow-Up Nutrition Consultations
Do you have questions about dietary strategies for weight management, specific health conditions, nutrition supplements that promise accelerated weight loss, or foods that you see in the grocery store? Have you been wondering which physical activities are the best for your health/weight management or which piece of exercise equipment is the best buy for you? These sessions are encouraged for current clients who have completed a nutrition assessment as a follow-up to provide on-going expert advice on individualized diet and exercise strategies, meal planning, label reading, and/or food preparation skills with a Registered Dietitian and Certified Exercise Physiologist.
*Body Composition Assessment
A body composition test measures your unique body composition and helps us to determine your personal caloric requirements. An accurate assessment of your body composition helps you and your Dietitian, to better plan and evaluate your weight management program. This body composition test is done with the latest in multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis using the InBody 570. The extreme accuracy of this analysis makes it possible for the InBody 570 to monitor the slightest compositional changes during the process of weight loss/gain.
Dietary Analysis
You will record your food and fluid intake for 3 days (2 weekdays and 1 weekend day) on a photo based web tool called KEENOA. Your food and log will be analyzed and the nutrition summary will be provided to you.
Comprehensive Assessment
The comprehensive assessment includes TWO body composition and resting metabolic rate analyses, an initial nutrition assessment, a dietary analysis, energy budgeting and meal planning sessions, AND two 30 minute nutrition counseling session with a Registered Dietitian.
Eat Smart Nutrition Workshop
Do you have elevated cholesterol? Is your blood pressure too high? Has your Doctor told you that you are a borderline diabetic? This workshop has all the nutrition information you need to get you started on a nutrition plan to better cope with high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and diabetes. This workshop will review how to keep your heart healthy and will delve into which foods you should eat, add life to your years and years to your life.
Shape Up Workshop:
A weight loss of 5-10 lbs can make a huge difference to your health, reducing cholesterol, triglyceride and blood sugar levels, controlling your blood pressure and even reducing arthritis pain….wow! That’s lots of great reasons to Shape Up! Unfortunately, the most common strategy people use for weight loss is to go on a crash DIET (Did I Eat Today)?! Few people combine active living with a healthy eating strategy to help meet their objective of weight loss. Develop a weight loss plan of action for increasing HDL-cholesterol and decreasing LDL-cholesterol and triglyceride levels. This workshop will help you adjust your energy balance to achieve a healthy weight goal.
